I have just decided that this might be a random, bullet post. Forgive me…much on the brain at once!
- Trigger has gotten on a kick of saying “Poppy fun” or “Poppy awesome”…Liz thinks it’s the “grass is green on the other side” theory since he’s with her so much more than he’s with my daddy. Haha…she’s jealous! Trigger’s speech has EXPLODED since he’s been in MDO. We knew that it would help him learn to express himself verbally but goodness gracious, he is putting more and more words together!
- Trigger is still obsessed with hats, sunglasses, and SHOES! and just recently, he has added wallets to the list. Anytime we get ready to leave, he hightails it to his playroom or his room to find his wallet. Then, he will come back and say “ready..ready”. Shoes: oh my word, obsessed! He wears approximately 5-6 different pairs of shoes or boots in a day. And, if you are over at my house, you will find them laying everywhere because we haven’t quite learned how to pick them up yet! Oh wait…I take that back…he knows how to put them away but he chooses NOT to put them away!
- Campbell has been laughing for us lately. I can tickle his chest with my nose and he will laugh…it’s not a full out laugh yet but it is getting soooo close. I absolutely LOVE baby laughs!
- Funny story: The boys and I were at my parents house one Friday. My dad, Poppy, came home from work…He walked into the den to talk to us…Trigger came up and started talking to him. My dad looked up to see something. Trigger stuck his hand in my dad’s pocket and pulled out a 20 dollar bill WHILE my dad wasn’t looking. AND it was in his money clip. He might just have a career as a pick pocket.
- I’m not sure why but I have decided that I find things alot more hilarious than Matt does. I laugh and find humor in everyday things…I do NOT find humor in movies that are suppose to be funny like Dumb and Dumber (that’s just off the top of my head…that’s an old movie) or Matt just said Tommy Boy or Napoleon Dynamite. He can laugh all day at those kinds of movies but they just aren’t that funny to me. Now, you put me in a room with my brothers, dad, and Matt…let them get started on a subject…like, let’s say Fresca (the drink)…random subject but those boys can make me roll with laughter! Like the below picture makes me laugh…the “competent supervision” part
- This picture, on the other hand, does not make me laugh! However, he does work really hard to provide for our family and he is really loving sooooo I’ll let this silly face slide! Oh and Matt and I were just talking and at this point right now (at the end of September), he has worked as many hours as the normal full time person has worked in a year…soooo, I refrained from asking but shouldn’t that mean he gets to take the next three months off?!? HAHAHAHA!
- Trigger is also loving his daddy’s tape measure. He also has this new thing where he puts his socks on his hands. Matt and I think he must be pretending that they are gloves because Matt wears gloves alot when he’s working outside! Oh and the picture with the socks on his hands, see those orange shorts…get used to seeing those. Trigger LOVES them…and the day I have been dreading for some time now has arrived…HE HAS DECIDED HE HAS AN OPINION ABOUT WHAT HE WEARS!
- I’m not sure if I have already mentioned this but Campbell loves his fingers. It’s always his right hand and 99% of the time, it’s his pointer and middle fingers. I think it’s adorable but I’m just curious how I’m going to throw away his fingers…I mean a paci is one thing but fingers are attached to your body.
- Both boys are sick right now. I took Campbell to the doctor on Thursday and Dr. Slusher said it was a virus. I H-A-T-E when it’s a virus…I’m not sure if that’s a motherly way to feel but I want medicine so my babies can feel better and you get nothing when it’s a virus! Anyway, Campbell was pretty pitiful! Then, Friday, Trigger woke up with the same thing…runny/stopped up nose WITH color and fussy, fussy, fussy! So today we took Trigger to the doctor in hopes of getting a decongestant. Campbell didn’t get one Thursday because he’s too young. We took Campbell too just to check his ears because he was extremely fussy this morning. Ears for both are fine…we saw Dr. Daher and I just love her…everytime we see her, she asks if the boys are/were breastfed. When I tell her yes, she goes on and on about how wonderful it is…I leave our appt with her every time feeling like my efforts and loss of time for breastfeeding are really worth it…I mean I know that but good grief it takes alot of effort and planning to breastfeed! But she told me today as soon as she looked at Trigger’s ears, “He was breastfed, wasn’t he?”…apparently, it’s THAT good for them! I say all of this and both will probably end up with ear infections tomorrow…lets pray that doesn’t happen. ANYWAY, we got a decongestant for Trigger and came home for the rest of the day…and guess who has it now…YEP, me!!!! And, I’m 99.9% sure that I was NOT breastfed, so I will probably end up with an ear infection..and if I do, that will be my FOURTH one this year. I have already had THREE ear infections from January to July. The funny thing is that before January, I hadn’t had an ear infection since I was little…like while my mom was still alive…soooo, it’s been at least 17 years. How do you go for 17 years without having an ear infection to having three within 7 months. Okay…I’ve got my menthyladem applied and I’m headed to dreamland…for about an hour or so until Campbell needs to be fed! :( He’s been waking TWICE during the night to be fed since this ilness…YUCK!
