Fun around the house

These were taken last Saturday when Larkin was very sick but Campbell was starting to feel better!  During tax season, Matt wakes around 3am and goes to work…and then he works until 12 and comes home.  He just started this schedule this year…in previous years, he has gone in around 5am and stays til 3pm.  I really like how he worked this year….I know it has killed him though.  We sure love when daddy walks through that door…especially me.  IMG_2533You can tell that our children have been to the doctor too much because they know the routine…in the pictures  below, they are playing doctor.  Trigger is the doctor and Campbell is the patient.  Trigger even got out his computer because our drs now use a computer.IMG_2544They were so funny…I heard Trigger in there saying “nope, camel, you don’t have an ear fection (infection)”IMG_2546When they are home all day, they get bored quickly.  We couldn’t go outside because Larkin was too sick…honestly, these boys were destroying everything and getting away with it because I pretty much spent the weekend taking care of Larkin.  Anyway, when they get bored, they travel from room to room to play.  They were gone for awhile and when I went to check on them, Trigger was jumping up and down on his bed and trying yank his curtains down.  They look pretty guilty, don’t they?!?!IMG_2553Well, that would be because of this!  Campbell had shredded the rest of the roll of toilet paper.  Poor Trigger ended up picking it all up.IMG_2554After Matt got home, we took the boys outside.  Thank goodness…they needed to get some energy out!IMG_2577IMG_2589

I am so thankful that we only have one more saturday of Matt working….well, until the next deadline.

sweet baby

Please forgive me and my no makeup…I know this might be shocking but I don’t wear makeup or real clothes unless I’m going somewhere!  That is one of the best things about being at home with my children.  I can take shower and dry my hair…and that’s it.  I don’t have to fix my hair and I don’t have to put on makeup!

We sure love this little girl!IMG_2351IMG_2360

Easter Weekend

The weekend turned out better than I had expected.  Campbell was feeling good and Larkin was doing much better…Matt worked all day Friday which was a complete bummer because everyone was out having fun and hunting eggs.  I don’t really remember what we did but I tried to make the best of it.  Friday also happened to be the day that Larkin turned THREE MONTHS!  Wow…time is already flying!  I’ll post more on that later.  I did get a few pictures of our big three month old.  I had to put her in an easter smocked outfit even though we didn’t go anywhere.

IMG_2561IMG_2601On Saturday, Matt worked so I loaded the kids up and took them to get donuts.  We had to wait forever…apparently everyone thought they needed to celebrate the Saturday before Easter with some donuts.  We drove to Matt’s office to say hi to him but couldn’t stay long because Larkin isn’t a huge fan of being in the car.  We came home, got dressed for the day, and played.  When I was back in Larkin’s room feeding her, I heard some noisy little feet coming down the hall.  When Campbell rounded the corner, I just had to laugh! He LOVES to go back into our closet and put on my (and matt’s) shoes.  This is the first time I had seem him in heels.  I immediately sent matt a picture of Campbell and said “you really need to spend more time at home.”  haha!IMG_2604IMG_2610My parents and Deanna brought lunch over for us.  Matt actually came home at lunch because he went to work really early that morning (like 3am).  It was fun to have my family here for a little while.  We went outside because the weather was BEAUTIFUL!  IMG_2616IMG_2617I love this picture because you KNOW our family loves some baseball.  It’s so sweet to see my dad playing with my children because my papaw always played baseball with us!!!!  That was our absolute favorite thing to do at papaws.  In fact, the last picture I have of Papaw and Trigger before my papaw passed away, Trigger is wearing this jon jon that Campbell has on.  I won’t be able to sell or give away this outfit! IMG_2619IMG_2620IMG_2621Matt got a new mower because we now have so much more grass to mow.  Campbell loves to ride!  IMG_2627Poor baby was tired…it was passed time for naps!IMG_2632And this little girl had an okay Saturday too…she was pretty fussy and I had to hold her and pace the floors with her most of the day….do you see who is holding her? Yep, her daddy…guess that’s why she’s smiling!IMG_2650

Larkin’s First Easter Dress

Because I wanted to make sure I got some good pictures of Larkin in her easter dress, I took some pictures of her before the actual day.  The crazy thing is that I these the day that we found out that Campbell had the flu.  Liz had come and gotten him and taken him to her house.  I was upset and needed something to do to take my mind off of it so Trigger and I had a little photo session with Miss Larkin.  Trigger is a good helper when he wants to be.  He helped me get everything set up and tried to get Larkin to smile…and then he just got mad because he wanted to take pictures instead of me.

IMG_2424IMG_2435IMG_2442IMG_2461IMG_2484IMG_2490

I really didn’t get any great pictures….AND, after taking them I realized that you can’t even really see her dress.  It is my favorite.  AND, it was the first dress/article of clothing that I bought after I found out we were having a girl.  I hate that she didn’t get to go to church on her first Easter.  However, she did wear her dress!  And, beware, she will probably wear it again…GASP!  I know that is probably a no-no but I don’t care.  I love the dress and I want her to wear it so she will! ;)

Sleep is hard to come by

Trigger pretty much gave up naps when we got rid of his paci.  He naps maybe once a week…sometimes twice.  Since he isn’t napping, sometimes when we drive somewhere in the afternoon, he will fall asleep.  THIS is very shocking to us because he hasn’t slept in the car since he was a baby.  I mean…NEVER sleeps in the car…NEVER EVER!  So, it’s still strange for me to look back and see him asleep.

Today and an Embarrassing story

So today was a rough day…I’m not even sure I want to recap it but lets just say that between 730-930:

1. fed and dressed boys  2. fed larkin  3. cleaned up oatmeal from lots of campbell’s crevices WHILE breastfeeding 4. got spit up on about 8 times 5. changed two dirty diapers 6. got myself completely dressed TWICE (because of spit up) 7. got Larkin dressed TWICE because of spit up 8. gave Larkin a breathing treatment 9. spanked a child 10. put a child in time out  11. washed a mouth out with soap  12. put 2 (maybe three) different pairs of shoes on Campbell 13. got all three in the car and buckled up (this is always a challenge because when outside, they scatter like marbles) 14. got trigger to school  15. gave larkin her two different acid reflux medicines.

it was chaotic and things didn’t really get much better.  I’m telling you that I am EXHAUSTED!  I had chest pains most of the day from being so stressed out.  But, everyone is still alive..which I feel is sometimes a huge thing for us.  I will not say that I handled all situations in the right manner today…in fact, I probably didn’t even handle half of them in a way that would please our Lord.  I’m pretty sure he was shaking his head at me today.  I just couldn’t keep up.  I felt like my wheels were spinning but I couldn’t get anywhere.  Poor matt got a million texts today and so did Liz.

We have had a hard time with Trigger lately….actually, always!  He has always been a very high maintenance child.  I love his passion for life but my word, I think it’s going to kill me.  He is so active…and so sassy.  In fact, we have had to start washing his mouth out with soap or giving him sassy juice.  Those two things usually work for a little while.    Campbell is just at that age where he is literally into EVERYTHING.  He knows just enough to know what he wants and where to get it and he goes for it.  He is very quiet and sneaky.  He often hides from me and I seriously can’t find him.  It has happened twice where I have gone through the house several times yelling his name and starting to panic and found him sitting somewhere quietly, hiding from me.  AH!  And, Miss Larkin is killing me…she screams most of the day.  I have been off of dairy for about 6 weeks…Im not really strict with it…like I still cook with butter and milk (like mashed potatoes) but I don’t eat cheese on my sandwich or sour cream on tacos.  Before she was sick, she had gotten on a good pattern of eating, playing, sleeping.  However, now we are revisiting the awful first few weeks when she screamed most of the day…even when held and standing and swaying and bouncing….non e of it worked.  it’s very frustrating when you can’t make your baby happy….Dr. slusher told us that her acid reflux would be worse while she was sick.  So, I’m going to try to be even more strict with the dairy products.  I looked at Liz yesterday and said, “ I want to know why all three of my children are…” and before I could finish, she filled in with “require a lot of attention”.  So true…I really needed one book reader child but instead I have very active children.

okay…story will have to wait…I’m falling asleep!

A few Saturdays ago

Oh my word…this day is really somewhat of a blur…I think it is that way for a reason.  It was a very trying morning.  Matt works on Saturdays starting at the beginning of February through April 15 (or 17th this year).  Saturdays are pretty miserable this time of year because it’s beautiful outside and it’s perfect weather….it is the time of year that just screams for you to get out and do something fun…like go to the zoo or park.  Well, there’s no way I can do that on my own so we miss out on the most beautiful time of the year.  That’s just part of the job I guess.  In case you haven’t figured it out, I get kind of cranky this time of year! ;)   Anyway, Matt had suggested that we meet him at fox’s pizza for lunch.  I was so excited to have a little outing…that’s really sad but I was truly happy!  Anyway, it literally took me ALL morning to get everyone fed, dressed, etc.  Everyone was fussy…everyone was into everything.  It was just one of those days.  Well, I sat down to feed Larkin at the last minute so she would be happy while we were gone.  I got done and got her buckled…ran to find the boys.  I hear Campbell fussing and water running.  I go into Larkin’s bathroom to find this…

IMG_2282He was crying because his clothes were wet and he was “duck” (stuck)…I mean, seriously?!?!  I don’t want to hear it!  He got himself in this situation…after he had shredded toilet paper all over the bathroom.  So, I had to get him out and change his clothes.IMG_2283

Somewhere in the middle of trying to get everyone loaded in the car, I had to get milk for Campbell, pack the diaper bag, etc.  We get in the car and I call Matt to tell him we are headed that way…VERY late at this point…like 12:30.  My poor children were starving.  I look back and see this.

IMG_2285

*sigh*  Little man was sound asleep and we weren’t even out of the neighborhood.  I made the decision to let Matt pick up pizza and bring it home for a picnic outside.  I did go ahead and get gas since everyone was loaded in the car and we were on the road.   You do not even want to know how many times lately that I have tried to get out and do this or that and have had to turn around because someone was melting down or someone fell asleep.  With three children,  I am learning that I just have to be super flexible.  Before, I could pushed through with one having a meltdown in walmart.  However, now I can not!  I only have so many arms and Larkin is always in one so there’s only room for one more and I prefer for it to be empty when I go to walmart or wherever it is that I am going.

And, I just can’t win because I bribed Trigger to get ready and hurry and get in the car by telling him we were going to eat pizza at fox’s.  He was NOT happy when we returned home!

He did cheer up when he found out  that we were having a picnic outside!

Whew…it made me tired just reliving that morning!
