Christmas Morning

Santa was pretty prepared this year and did not spend a lot of time setting out my children’s toys…which was good because Santa was tired and carrying a lot of extra weight! haha!!   This year Santa decided (because of our boys ages) that Trigger and Campbell would get all joint gifts.  I know this can’t happen much longer but Campbell is really at a difficult age.  He doesn’t really care if he has his own toys…he truly ONLY wants what Trigger has…which aren’t age appropriate toys for little Campbell.   Trigger saw this black ford truck in Walmart and has wanted it for some time now.  We thought it was a good gift because it’s a two seater.  Campbell can’t drive yet but loves to ride!  Trigger and Campbell both were really into building with blocks…they had been using the mega bloks.  I wanted Trigger to start using the next stage blocks so they got the duplo legos.  Isn’t Santa great?  He built a big tower out of all of the blocks.  IMG_2497IMG_2499Santa also brought a train set.  My parents gave them the train table.IMG_2500IMG_2502

Here is a picture of the leftover cookies.IMG_2504Me and my boys on Christmas morning.IMG_2507What was the first thing the boys ran to…yep, the black truck!  They were very excited!IMG_2516IMG_2521IMG_2530Our tradition is to have sausage balls on Christmas morning. Campbell, of course, took a minute to “Eee…Eeee”  which means EAT!!!!  That boy loves some food…which is very obvious if you have ever seen his thighs! ;)IMG_2535IMG_2543IMG_2565It didn’t take long before one little boy made his way ON TOP of the table!IMG_2578Santa wasn’t sure if Larkin would be here for Christmas so he brought her a few things in her stocking!!!IMG_2593DO not ask me why this child is naked…there is no telling!!IMG_2610

Christmas morning was a little rough around here.  Both boys were pretty grumpy.  I think Trigger had to go back to his room to sit three different times that morning…and I believe he got a spanking too…Both were whinny and were constantly fighting about every little thing.  I think the lack of sleep and excitement had gotten to both of them!

December 24th- part two

After a very quick nap on Christmas eve, we head to Arcadia for round 2 of our celebrating.  We started off by giving Mr. Jerry/Papaw his present from all of us…it was a new tv.  We gave it to him early so that Matt could have time to hook it up.  Then, we had supper…it was so yummy, like always. We had steak, potatoes, salad, etc.  YUM!  Then, the kids were rushing to open presents so we got busy opening!IMG_2466Look at this precious picture of cousins. Trigger and Anna Grace!!  Oh how he LOVES his cousins!!!IMG_2470Trigger piled himself up on the couch with Uncle Jerry and Papaw!IMG_2474I guess he decided it would be more fun to be down on the ground with the kids!IMG_2478And, yes, Campbell was there.  He just isn’t really that into opening presents yet so he kept disappearing to the sunroom where all the toys are.IMG_2482This outfit that Campbell has on is the outfit that I made for Trigger when he was this age.  I absolutely love it…I’m thinking that I will add a ruffle to the pants and let Miss Larkin wear it too!

Trigger got this transformer firetruck that shot balls out of it.  Grammy didn’t realize that it shot balls :) The kids (big and small) loved it.  I’m pretty sure that we only came home with one ball.IMG_2492

After opening gifts, we quickly cleaned up, packed up, and headed home.  It was Christmas eve after all…so we had to hurry and get in bed.  I’m telling you that i was NOT on my A-game this year…I mean…NOT at all!  When we got home, I quickly got Campbell changed and started rocking him.  I put him down and went to tell Trigger good night.  I realized that Matt and Trigger were in the den…what were they doing??? Putting out cookies and milk for Santa.  I had completely forgotten…UGH!!!!!  Did I get a picture?  NOPE!  I tried to remind myself that this is just one year and it really doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things if I got a picture of them putting out cookies…or if we didn’t get a chance to do all the things that I like to do at Christmas.  Honestly, I was just happy to not be in the hospital…and to still be somewhat sane and have clean clothes to put on my children…our house was still in such chaos that I am truly surprised that I made it through Christmas with any sense left!

December 24th- part one

Christmas Eve is  by far our most hectic day of celebrating.  We start off early…like 9:00 early.  I got up and cooked a cheese danish and breakfast casserole to take to my parents.  We got there around 9 and ate breakfast.  THEN, we opened presents.  My parents go all out for Christmas.  It is so generous of them to buy us so much but completely unnecessary.  I know they enjoy watching the kids opened all of their presents.

IMG_2435Okay…check out all of those present…ALL of those at their feet were their presents…YEP, a TON of presents.  AND do you know what my oldest child said after we finished passing them out, "I don’t have any presents”…said with the most pitiful tone and his head tilted, all pitiful.  SERIOUSLY, I kid you NOT.  Those were his words…I had nothing to respond with…I’m pretty sure my jaw dropped and I laughed a little.  IMG_2436IMG_2439IMG_2442IMG_2443Campbell is OBSESSED with boots!IMG_2445Campbell LOVES his poppy and he does NOT like to share him!!!IMG_2451”Uncle Bana” and ReidIMG_2453Uncle Will and TriggerIMG_2460

After we finished opening presents, we loaded everything up in my tahoe and matt’s truck…yep, it took EVERY nook and cranny to get it all to fit…and headed home for naps.

December 23rd

Here we go with the three day Christmas festivities….On December 23rd, we go to Sterlington to celebrate Christmas with my grandparents, Meme and Papaw.  We always bring finger foods and OF COURSE open presents.  I have to be honest…this Christmas was pretty difficult.  I was very pregnant and was pretty uncomfortable…and was suppose to be still getting four hours of rest a day.  That’s a little difficult when presents have to be wrapped, food cooked, toddlers corralled, etc.  And, it seemed that most of our celebrating happened at night when I was at my worst.  Oh well…I made it through it.  I’m just not sure if I will remember much of it!

IMG_2391IMG_2399IMG_2401IMG_2426IMG_2429IMG_2431

The poor boys…this was LATE night number one.  They are very scheduled little people…and they had three long days, late naps, and VERY late bedtimes.

Ho-Ho-Ho!

We were told by some friends to go to the children’s museum in Monroe to see Santa.   I won’t list why but we were NOT impressed.  I don’t think the children cared though.  They can have fun where ever we are.  Trigger spotted the police car right away.  He made a beeline over to the drivers seat.  I hope he never again steps foot in a police car!!!!!IMG_2228IMG_2229We made our way to the back, dark corner to see Santa.  Abby and Sydney had their visit first.  IMG_2236Neither of my children were thrilled about sitting in Santa’s lap.  In fact, BOTH of them cried.  I was really surprised because neither of them cried at Mt. Mariah.  Oh well…just goes to show you that you just can’t predict toddlers!IMG_2238IMG_2240Yep…that would be the best we could get of the five cousins.  I can’t even imagine how hard it will be next year when we will add two more to the mix!IMG_2247Candy cane bribery works every time…well, at least it did this time! Sunday Morning

This particular morning, we were dressed and ready for church on time…this is a rare occurrence in our household as we are usually running out the door half dressed.

I decided that since we had all this extra time…you know…all 3 minutes extra that we had! We took some pictures!  AND, we all know how well that went over with the little one! ;)IMG_2212IMG_2220IMG_2226

Christmas Pjs

First, I should have titled this “christmas Jammas” because that is what Trigger calls his pajamas.

I have to say that I wish I could just post all of the pictures I took from this little photo shoot…it is quite humorous.  Campbell has gotten to a very difficult stage…he does not like to sit still for a photograph.  It’s really just a waste of time in his eyes!  However, I am a pretty determined person sooooo…I just keep trying and trying!!!

I hope you enjoy…and feel free to laugh…or to cry…or to pray for us.   Ha!IMG_2084IMG_2087IMG_2093IMG_2094IMG_2097Do you see the mounds of laundry in the background,…lovely, huh?IMG_2104IMG_2106IMG_2108IMG_2113IMG_2147IMG_2156IMG_2176

They sure are busy boys!!!  Maybe I can get them to cooperate in a few years!
