Please Pray

Please pray for a 6th grader at our school. She (and two other girls) were in a four wheeler wreck last night. What I know is ALL second hand information and may not be completely accurate but I am going to pass on what I have heard...no matter what, I do know this little girl and her family need our prayers. One of the girls (which happens to be one of our teacher's children) was airlifted to LSUS last night and was in critical condition. She has a fractured skull, is unconscious, and is on a vent. They had scheduled a brain scan this morning at 4:30 (apparently there is a spot that they are concerned might be bleeding in her brain). I haven't heard anything from the scan yet. PLEASE PRAY!!! This is a very sweet family and my heart goes out to them!!!!

Guest Bedroom and Teacher Apprec.

Kelly at www.kellyskornerblog.com is having the "guest bedroom" edition of "show us where you live Friday"...can you tell I am tired...don't even feel like using caps.
Our guest bedroom....is a DISASTER!!!! It is the catch-all room...in fact, these pictures are after 10 minutes of cleaning off the bed and straightening up..SAD!!!! Anyway, here it is!!

This bedroom also serves as my craft room. This is my monogramming/sewing machine. I LOVE IT! I wish I had more time to use it.

I absolutely LOVE this organizer that I got a long time ago. It holds all my pens, pencils, scissors, etc. and it turns like a lazy susan.

This is our armoire that I have had since I was a little girl...not the most beautiful piece of furniture but VERY useful. It holds all my scrapbook stuff and fabric for sewing!

AND...just keeping it real. This is all the junk piled up in the guest bedroom waiting to go in the attic (baby stuff) or to be given away (old school stuff).

Hope you enjoyed looking!
Changing the subject: Like I said in my last post, I have had an AWESOME week. It's teacher appreciation and I think I have the most giving parents. They have showered me with flowers, notes, presents, etc. Here are some of the pictures I promised from my door decorations and flowers.

quick post

So far it has been a wonderful week. It's teacher appreciation week at Cedar Creek. My AWESOME parents have showered me with one thing after another. Yesterday, each of the students brought a flower to put in a vase on my desk. Then, two moms came at lunch and kept my class for the rest of the day. I got to go pick up Trigger and we went to eat lunch with Matt. It was so nice to spend the afternoon with Trigger (even if he was NOT in a good mood most of the afternoon). This morning when I arrived at school, I had a surprise on my door and notes/drawings from my children. I will have to see if I can take pictures tomorrow and post them. Each child traced their hands (or actually Dana and Melody traced their hands) and cut them out. They wrote their name and told what they liked about Mrs. Woodard....they were such sweet comments!!!! And, each teacher got a casserole to take home today. We had ziti and it was yummy. I think next year (at the beginnning of the year) I need to have a sign-up sheet for my parents: Take-out Tuesdays. They can sign up to bring me a casserole or supper from somewhere. HAHA...I'm really joking! It was nice to have supper taken care of though. Anyway, I'll keep you posted on what else happens this week! It's been awesome so far though...I have GREAT parents!!!!!!

Our First Sunday...

About three Sunday's ago, Trigger made his first appearance at the church nursery. He had been to church with us a few times when he was only a few months old but he would go to Sunday School with me. Now, after 8.5 long months, Trigger got to experience the nursery. Unfortunately, he got sick the next week...probably not even related to the nursery but he wasn't able to attend church the next week. Here are some pictures from our first week at church as a family!

I hope you are having a wonderful Mother's Day. My weekend has been awesome. Matt surprised me with a LAPTOP and Trigger got me a paper towel holder (one that I had been wanting!!!).

Living Room

I thought I would participate in Kelly's Show us where you live Friday: Living Room/Den. Last week, I posted pictures of our kitchen. You have to realize that these posts are GREAT motivation for me to clean up our house! :) However, today, Mrs. Arva came to clean so our house was spic-n-span when I got home from school. She is AMAZING! I always feel sorry for her because our house is such a wreck when she arrives. Anyway, here are some pictures of my den. I do have to say that I have a REAL problem hanging things on the walls...as you will see. I keep telling Matt that I am just not sure. We have lived in this house for almost three years so I am not having thinking it's going to happen any time soon.
This picture is taking from the foyer.

This is my chair (left) and Matt's recliner (right). I did NOT want a recliner in my house...just don't like them but Matt had to have one. Compromise?!?!! I love the arch in the fireplace.

And, our TV and couch. I would really like a new couch but it's not priority right now! Plus, I figure we should wait until after we are past baby mode!

These are our built-ins in our den. I love them!

I did have serving pieces and extra dinnerware stored in the cabinets but my parents gave me a china cabinet for Christmas so I got to move all of it. Now, I store tubs (some are missing) of Trigger's toys and games.

One of my favorite things on the built-ins is my photo albums. These are the "Trigger collection"....ummmmm...he's only 9 months old and he has how many albums of pictures? And, one is missing

I LOVE our fan/light in this room. The light shines up on the ceiling to provide indirect lighting. It gives the room a warm and cozy feeling.

One more thing...I said to Matt (before children) that we would not have toys kept in our den. Hahahahaha...I bet alot of you are laughing right now!!!! Well, Trigger got this great canvas tote from Pottery Barn and we store his toys in that. If we've got to have them in the den, it least they are stored in a cute container!

And, had to include one of Trigger!

Hope you enjoyed our tour.

THE red blanky!

The other day (same day that he climbed on the dishwasher) I put Trigger down on the floor in the den. He had his blanky in hand and paci in mouth (of course). I went to the kitchen and looked over the bar to see what he was doing. He was crawling around while holding onto his red blanky.....I thought it was sweet...AT THE SAME TIME, I am seeing into the future. I can just see me now...after the Pre-K parent meeting where you are told to drop your child off in the carline...even if they are crying..they will be fine! We've given that speech a million times!!! After that speech, I will have to raise my hand to ask, "Miss Dance, UMMMMM, can Trigger bring his red blanky. He really can't sleep without it!" AND...she BETTER say "NO, we do not allow blankys, toys, stuffed animals, etc."...I'm just saying that I already know that I have created a HUGE monster that I will have to undo later. Right now, though, it is SOOO dang cute!
Here are the pictures of him carrying his red blanky around...we've got to think of a creative name for it. Mine was "B"....not so creative. I did see on a tv show that a little boy called his "old friend"...I thought that was hillarious!

Just some random pictures

I had been doing so good posting everyday. Our computers are still not at 100% so it takes for ever to upload pictures. I don't have much to say EXCEPT...14 days until graduation...Pre-K graduation, that is! YIPPEE!!!!! I LOVE, LOVE my Pre-K children but I am so ready for Trigger time and POOL time!!!! Ahhhh...the pool or beach and my baby (and Matt)...couldn't get much better than that!
I thought I would share a few random pictures that I have taken...most were taken in March and April (sooo Trigger would be between 8 and 9 months in these pictures).
