ONE MONTH

Campbell was one month on July 3rd.  He had to go visit Dr. Slusher again.  We love going to the doctor…mainly because I want to know his stats.  So here they are.

Weight: 9 lbs. (WOW…he jumped from the 10th percentile to the 25th in three weeks!  AWESOME!)

Length: 22.25 inches

Head Circumference: 36 cm.

Dr. Slusher did find a hernia in his belly button just like Trigger.  Campbell also has a heart murmur that was discovered when he was in the hospital.  He went to see Dr. King (pediatric cardiologist).  He said it was what Trigger has: A hole in his heart.  All babies have a hole when they are born but most close up almost immediately.  Since Campbell’s didn’t close up, we will have to continue to see Dr. King.  Our next appt is in October.

He is now ONLY breastfeeding and ONLY gets a bottle if I have to go somewhere.  That has only happened a few times!  July 3rd happened to be a Saturday and we were just hanging out as a family so I decided to snap a few pictures.

Okay..so as most of you know, Trigger has a few things he is obsessed with right now.  1. RED TRUCKS 2. Woody (Toy Story…and this has nothing to do with the new movie because he doesn’t even know about it) 3. Cars (the movie)

Trigger loves his little brother but we have to really watch him because he still doesn’t understand that he can’t pull on Campbell’s limbs or poke out his eyes.  This makes things very difficult on me because I can’t just put Campbell down on a quilt to have tummy time or just to rest while I got things accomplished around the house (like I did with Trigger).  If I don’t watch closely, this is what happens and believe me, driving a truck on Campbell is the LEAST of my concerns! :)  Poor Campbell!!

Family Fun- June 027  LOOK at that guilty face…he is JUST waiting on me to tell him to stop.  That little TOOT…what are we going to do with him??

Family Fun- June 028 Brothers watching Cars together.  Soooo sweet!

Family Fun- June 031 Another concern…body slamming!

Happy ONE MONTH, Campbell!!!

Peach Parade

I hope you have noticed that this is my FOURTH post tonight so don’t miss out on the previous three!  I’m on a mission tonight to get a little caught up!

I was determined to take Trigger to the peach parade this year.  I wasn’t sure how that was going to happen because Campbell really wasn’t suppose to be out in public.  Campbell was only three weeks old but I took him to the parade anyway…I know that is probably horrible but at least we were in the open air.  I was so busy talking to my cousins/friends that live in Shreveport that I didn’t get a picture of me and Campbell.  I did get a few of Trigger at his FIRST peach parade (actually it was his first parade)!

Family Fun- June 015 Family Fun- June 018 Family Fun- June 019 This picture isn’t great but when we got in the car and I realized that I didn’t take a picture of Campbell at HIS first parade, I was quite upset so Matt took this picture.

Campbell’s Birth Announcement

We have used this same guy for our Christmas cards.  He is sooo wonderful to work with and he is super fast.

Campbell's Announcements They were printed on linen cardstock which I think is a MUST…it just adds texture and makes the card look so much better!  (oh this image is watermarked so that I can’t copy it…his name was not at the top left on the final product!)

Campbell’s Photo Session

I really have nothing to say except that Campbell pooped twice and tee-teed once while trying to take pictures of him.  Needless to say, I have not had another photo session since then.  Hmmmm…I need to get on that!

Weeks 2 and 3- Campbell

Campbell still had many visitors coming by and now I’m quite irritated with myself that I didn’t take more pictures.  So many people came by and I did not get their picture!

Campbell’s cousins came to meet him and bring us supper.  Abby was/is in love with Campbell.  She loved holding him…I think she needs another sibling!

Campbell- weeks 1-3 015 And, all the Hood cousins.  I must say that it is quite difficult to get them all looking much less smiling.  This picture is NOT the exception to that…I just used a little thing called PHOTOSHOP and did a little face swapping.  AWESOME feature.

Hood Cousins

Campbell had to go back for a weight check at 2 weeks.  Dr. Slusher wanted him to be at our above his birth weight and he was!  YAY!  Also, Campbell had to go to see Dr. Magee (because Dr. Slusher was out of town) when he was 2.5 weeks old because his eye had started draining and had turned green.  Dr. Magee said that his eye was infected and put Campbell on eye drops three times a day.  He said this would probably be a problem for the next several months to a year!  Oh joy!!!  While I was there, I asked him if we still needed to wake Campbell up every three hours (because he has been feeding every 3 hours around the clock) at night.  He said that his weight gain was excellent so we could stop waking him.  We tried it and he would go for about 4 hours..sometimes 5.  This was so different because with Trigger being so small, we had to wake him and feed him every 3 hours until he was 2-3 months old!

Liz and I laugh all the time because Campbell will cry and cry….

Campbell- weeks 1-3 058

And, you will go over to him and this is what you see (below)…like, “What?  It wasn’t me!”  Haha! Campbell- weeks 1-3 059 Campbell- weeks 1-3 060 Father’s Day 2010.  WOW…I can’t believe that Matt is now a father of TWO boys!  He is the perfect example for them…I hope they both follow in his footsteps and love the Lord and grow up to be the man that Matt is today!  I am constantly amazed at how wonderful he actually is.  I could go on and on but I’m pretty sure most of you are rolling your eyes right now.  But, I am thankful that God put Matt into my life and is giving us the AWESOME responsibility of raising TWO BOYS!!

(Excuse the little boy on the left’s face…I’m not sure what his issue was in the picture.  He’s almost two and we all know how that is…anger for no reason.  I have a feeling we will revisit these rage issues in about 10-15 years but probably on a bigger scale. YIKES!)

Campbell- weeks 1-3 067

We also ran over to my parents for lunch.  Here is a picture of Liz/Izzy with the grandchildren.  Don’t ask me why we took a picture of her and the children on FATHER’s day.  Who knows!

Campbell- weeks 1-3 071

Campbell’s cord and bell (from circumcision) finally fell off so I was able to give him a real bath.  He wasn’t a huge fan…but neither was Trigger at that age.

Campbell- weeks 1-3 046 Campbell- weeks 1-3 056 And what is better than TWO clean babies.  Campbell is getting some lovin from his big brother!

Campbell- weeks 1-3 036 Campbell-announcement copy Poor Liz has gone ABOVE and BEYOND what a mom/grandmother should have to do!  For Campbell’s first 4 weeks of life, Liz came to our house EVERYDAY.  She helped hold Campbell, wrangle Trigger, wash dishes, fix lunches, wash/fold/put away clothes, drive me around town, keep me company, and SOOOO much more.  WE LOVE LIZ and are soooo thankful to have her in our lives.  This picture was hilarious to me because it just shows how wonderful Liz is…she’s holding Campbell (I think I was pumping), Trigger is tackling her, and she’s on the phone with Lance (I think).

Campbell- weeks 1-3 076 At three weeks, Campbell still does alot of sleeping!

Campbell- weeks 1-3 077 Campbell- weeks 1-3 078 Trigger loves to color…I feel like he’s been left out of these posts.  Sooo here are a few pictures of my sweet Trigger!

Campbell- weeks 1-3 079 Oh and now I remember why I took so many pictures of this coloring session.  I noticed that he was doing great with how he held his crayon.  CHASTEN, CHECK THAT FORM OUT!  I’m telling you…he’s a genius…haha!!!!

Campbell- weeks 1-3 081 And, I had a little photo session with Campbell.  I will do a separate post with those pictures and I will try to attach our announcement!

Adjusting to Life (Week 1)

I am going to try to catch up quickly in this post.  I truly hate to breeze through the past month’s of pictures because I am planning on having my blog put into a book for a sort of scrapbook since I have no time to do things like that anymore….or maybe I’m just too lazy!

Okay now I am looking back at all the pictures that I have to post and I will probably NOT catch up in this post…yikes, I have got to get busy!

Let’s get started.

As most of you know, I was so worried that Trigger wasn’t going to like Campbell and that I was ruining his life by bringing a sibling into his world.  I was so wrong.  From the moment he met Campbell, he has kissed all over him.  It’s amazing to me that he has been this way.  It must be a God thing because when I was pregnant, Trigger never really understood that I was having a baby and all that that involved. I was pleasantly surprised at his reaction!  The day after we got home from the hospital (Tuesday), Matt ran into work for just a little bit to get mail and do whatever else he needed to do.  Liz came over to help me.  Trigger wanted to hold Campbell.  Here are pictures of the first time Trigger got to hold his little brother.  He was so sweet and loving.  However, when he gets done holding him, you better be ready because he pretty much throws Campbell off his lap.

And of course, he had to show his little brother the BEST TOY In the whole world: A RED TRUCK!!!!

Campbell 116 Anytime someone is holding (for that first week or so), Trigger had to be right up in the middle of it…and of course, he would have to have his turn too!  I thought these were sweet of Izzy holding Campbell while Trigger loves on his brother!

Campbell 092 Campbell 093 Campbell reminds us all the time of Trigger…maybe these are things that all babies do but our two boys have certain things that are very similar…especially how they sleep, faces they make, etc.

Campbell 118

Campbell visitors 031

Of course Campbell has had many visitors…mainly family.

Aunt Teresa, Meme, and Izzy (and Papaw and Poppy were there too)…

Campbell visitors 035 And of course Trigger was excited to see his Uncle Lance…check out the two pacis and “B” (Trigger’s blanket) in the second picture…it must have been naptime!

Campbell visitors 036 Campbell visitors 039 Campbell had to go for his one week check up.  He weighed 6lbs.8oz. and 19.75 inches and head circumference is 34.25 cm.  Dr. Slusher wanted us to come back in for a weight check at 2 weeks because Campbell still wasn’t back at his birth weight. At this point, I was trying to breastfeed but still giving him a bottle afterwards because he was falling asleep instead of nursing!

Here is our little pumpkin (his jaundice levels were 13.8 at his appt. but had gone down to 12.9 the next day) and me at Dr. Slusher’s office.

Campbell 007 That’s all for week one of Campbell’s life.  I am finding that it is SOOOO true about the second true…I try really hard to take plenty of pictures of Campbell but I am failing miserably!
