We went to Houston for my dads birthday again this year. Everyone traveled GREAT!!! which was a huge improvement from our beach travels this summer. If you have children, you know how wonderful it is when you have good travelers. We stopped at Chickfila on the way down there. This was Larkin’s first time to sit in a high chair out in public! I was a little nervous.
The sweet lady gave the kids chickfila hats.
Once we got down there, we got our rooms set up. Oh and we had this fun surprise from Mrs. Chris (the Inn at the Ballpark’s general manager). She is sooo sweet and always makes us feel so welcome!
This year, my dad got two rooms for us…we’ve had one room in the past. This was a HUGE help to have two! The boys shared the other room and Larkin slept in our room. It was so nice to be able to put boys down and crack the door in between our rooms and not worry about them waking Larkin.
We got there in time for Larkin to take a nap and the boys to get some rest…. Campbell twirled his hair and Triggers. so sweet!
We went to games on Friday night and Saturday night. We obviously can’t stay for the whole game but we try to stay until after the 5th inning because they set up an ice cream bar and of course Trigger LOVES that! Neither of the boys were very fond of Junction Jack (the rabbit) this time…in fact, they were both quite scared! I didn’t take many pictures with my good camera…most were taken with my phone which seems to be the norm these days.
The look alikes. My dad threw out the first pitch at the Saturday game!Me and my babies! The Insperity Club had made this for my dad’s birthday. The boys LOVED running up and down the ramps by our seats. And of course they both spent time begging to play with everyone’s iphone games. AND, we OF COURSE, ate lots of YUMMY FOOD!LOVE the kids shirts…they say “poppys girl” and boys shirts say “poppys boy” on the back.
Saturday morning they brought my dad a couple of pies for his birthday so after our big breakfast, we had a piece of pie…real healthy, huh? Then we went shopping until lunch…Came back and ate lunch…took a nap and then went back to the game.Snuggling in the morning before we headed home.On the way home, Matt had a brilliant idea to eat at Dickey’s BBQ Pit. The food was pretty good but it took forever.
The trip was good…the boys are getting older and enjoying trips more and more each year! On the way home, I started thinking about what it would be like next year…we will have a 5 year old, 3 year old, and a 1.5 year old….so strange!
