In Cahoots

Do you know what "in cahoots" means? Well let me tell you!
In cahoots-
1. in conspiracy with someone
2. Working secretively with someone
-usage notes: usually said about doing something dishonest!

Okay. Now let me add a little picture for you!

They look innocent, huh? well let me tell you, they could definitely be the picture of "in cahoots". Remember how I posted about how I love that these two boys have had these two months to bond. They have most definitely bonded together. Here's an example of their handy work! Last night after supper, I sent the boys to the playroom while I cleaned up the kitchen and matt held Larkin! At one point, I called triggers name to ask him a question. He answered quickly and then said "momma, can you just let me play". Seriously?!? How old is he? Anyway, he shut the playroom doors after that which isn't that abnormal. After a min or so, I went to check on them. I wish I had a picture of what I saw! Campbell had taken his milk cup in there and, well, apparently he decided to pretend as though it was a water hose (I've caught him trying to do that before). On one side of the room, was campbells milk spray all over the CARPET! Then, I look over and see the two well bonded boys hunched over a tub of trucks/cars that were dumped out. Trigger had the milk cup at this point and apparently the cars/trucks were on fire and he felt the need to spray them...and I'm also guessing that the beds of the trucks were burning fast bc they were filled with milk! I'm telling you, if they become fire fighters, they will have the spraying and full coverage to get rid of a fire DOWN PAT! However, there was NO fire in our playroom. Therefore, there was no need to be spraying any liquids!!! I sooo wish I had a picture but I was too busy disciplining and trying to make a point...and I kind of thought the taking of pictures would've been poorly timed! I did raise my voice and call for these wild Indians father to enter the picture! They were sent to the rug in the dining room to wait their punishment!

Poor campbell didnt have a clue what was coming...trigger, on the other hand, well, this is something he's used to! I got stuck scrubbing carpet while the chief dealt with the Indians. They went on to bed early as part of the punishment and I clean trucks and cars. Now, I would've had them clean them but that wouldn't have been punishment. They would've loved it...so, I cleaned them!

Let's just say that we have a new rule in our house and that is:
No milk cups out of the kitchen!

Who will win the spotlight?

During my photo sessions, the boys are always right in the middle of things…trying to steal the spotlight!  However, they have no desire to cooperate and they are usually dressed like hillbillies so I end up with pictures like this…IMG_1300IMG_1303IMG_1304IMG_1307IMG_1321

But that’s okay…that’s our life right now! and I want to remember life the way things truly were…its not all rainbows around here!  The boys are just very interested in their baby sister!

Occasionally I can get a picture of baby girl by herself!IMG_1310

We are lint FREE

I have mentioned that Larkin’s belly button sticks way out…especially if she is straining at all or is upset and crying.  She has a umbilical hernia which are very common apparently because 3 of 3 of my children have them.  Anyway, I was taking pictures of Larkin and needed to change her diaper…I glanced down at her belly button and decided that I really should document it.  It sticks out way further than either of the boys.  It’s weird that all three of my children have outty (how do you even spell that) belly buttons…I guess that just means that they want be able to start a lint collection in a jar…did anyone else ever see that guy on tv that collected his belly lint in a jar and had been doing it for like 20 something years..EWWWW!  So, I can mark that off my worries…my children want be weird and collect the lint from their belly buttons!  HA!

It’s true what they say…

You really do think your children are the most beautiful things in the entire world.  Don’t get me wrong, I realize that others may not believe that about my children…I get that!!!  However, I’m amazed by their beauty.  I wonder if God feels that way about us…I mean he did create us so I know he thinks we are pretty special.  It’s just hard to imagine how He can love and adore us MORE than how much I love my children.  I’m sure thankful he loves me…I think you’d have to love me a lot to deal with and forgive me!

Anyway, I’ve been on another photo kick lately…theres something about taking pictures of a newborn.  First of all, they stay still! And, new babies are just so sweet!  So, Larkin has been my little model!

IMG_1258IMG_1268Occasionally my model will go on strike and I have to whip her back into shape!IMG_1295

My Cool Man

Campbell is a funny little character!!! He is starting to love accessories (hats, sunglasses, shoes, etc).  IMG_1247

AND, the other thing he LOVES, LOVES, LOVES is brushing his teeth. If we lose Campbell…and honestly, we are always losing someone in our house…these children are so busy!!!! anyway, 99% of the time you can find Campbell is going to be standing on the stool in the boys bathroom, brushing his teeth.  he doesn’t really ever get any toothpaste but he pretends and then he brushes away.  He could be entertained forever doing this.  I guess it could be worse and he could be obssessed with something no so healthy…so I’ll count my blessings! ;)IMG_1426

The days are long…but the nights are longer!

When the boys are home, I have to get creative to entertain the troops.  They have a playroom with TONS and TONS of toys.  However, they get bored very easily with them.  I have been trying to pull out something different to do each day…or we make a craft.   If they go to grandparents, they usually just come home, nap, and play with toys.  Thank goodness for those days so that I don’t have to come up with activities everyday.

We have played with a lot of playdough.  Both of them LOVE playdough.  Trigger likes to pretend that he is making cookies.  He even has a certain drawer in the kitchen that he uses to bake his cookies.  IMG_1020IMG_1021IMG_1024

We have made a few Valentines projects.  This one was super easy and just a last minute idea on my part.  I used contact paper (that I had from teaching), tissue paper squares (in red, pink and white for vday), and construction paper hearts.   I gave them a bowl of squares and hearts.  They just had to fill up their contact paper.  SIMPLE…and no messy glue!IMG_1137Liz and I laughed at Campbell.  Liz said, “Can’t you remember how you ALWAYS had that one student who didn’t care about their projects and were finished before you were even finished passing out the supplies to everyone…THAT is Campbell”  Ha!  He picked up a glob of tissue paper and junked in down and looked at us like “im done..what’s next”IMG_1138Of course, then  he decided that he needed more!IMG_1143And then you have the first born….who is meticulously about the placement of each piece! ;)IMG_1146

Next up: Our banner.  I cut out banner pieces from white cardstock.   Then, I cut hearts out to tape down to the banner pieces.  THe boys watercolored around the heart.  After they finished each banner pieces, I would removed the heart so it left a white heart where there was no paint.

IMG_1189IMG_1190Campbell, once again, got bored quickly…what can I say…he’s not even two yet!  AND, he had water in front of him…how could he resist the urge!IMG_1203A totally guilty look…with a blue mouth from putting his mouth down in the water.  YUCK!IMG_1204SO…what did this mean momma make him do? Clean up his mess!  He had water EVERYWHERE!  IMG_1208After they finished, I punched holes and put ribbon through the holes and hung in our window.  The heart pictures below are our contact paper collages from above.  aren’t they cute.  They looked really good when the sun was shining!IMG_1213Trigger’s collageIMG_1215Campbell’s collageIMG_1216And one more look at our banner.  Campbell painted all of the blue ones (with lots of help from me).  Trigger painted the red ones.  I realized that blue isn’t a traditional Valentine’s color but I saw blue and red on another blog and thought we would use those colors too since I have two boys that painted.

IMG_1217 I’m running out of creative ideas so I’m going to have to start looking on pinterest for some more fun things/activities to do with the boys!

The BEST

I know I rave about Matt all the time.  He’s not perfect but he sure tries hard to be perfect.  This is such a hard time of the year for him.  It really is funny to me because people think they know how much he works but I don’t think they really understand the amount of hours that he works right now.  I mean it isn’t natural to work that much and to miss that much sleep!!!!  He does a great job of making our family as much of a priority as he can.  He comes home for supper and stays to put the boys in bed.  They don’t know any different except that he works on Saturdays too.  Matt loves his children (and me) so much and it’s obvious!!!  IMG_1085

Do you think she’s got him wrapped around her little finger? Why, yes, I believe she does!!!!!  IMG_1184IMG_1185
