Campbell- 1 year

Bless his little heart.  He’s 14.5 months and I’m just now posting about him at 12 months. 

• Stats: weight- 12 lbs 14 oz.; height- 29 inches; head cir.- 17.9 inches
• Teeth: At 12 months, you had 8 teeth and had already starting teething signs for your molars.
• Nickname:  We (mainly I ) call you “punkin eater”.  I don’t know why but we do…and have forever!
• Physical: You started taking steps 1-2 weeks after your birthday.  The difference between you and your brother is that once you took steps, you never looked back.  You have been walking everywhere since then.  You are into everything.  Your favorite thing to do is to walk back to my bathroom and go through my drawers.  When your brother is asleep, you will hightail it (when I’m not looking) back to Trigger’s room and push on his door.  Sometimes you get lucky and the door wasn’t shut good and you make your way inside.  I guess it’s a little payback for Trigger waking you up all the time. 

• Personality: Your little personality is FUNNY!  You are a thinker and aren’t as impulsive as Trigger.  You have the most expressive expressions (if that makes sense).  No one will ever have to guess how you are feeling…they can just read it all over your face.  When you don’t get your way, you completely melt down.  Trigger used to cry with anger…you cry as though your heart has been ripped to pieces.  You will cry with your whole mouth open, throw your head back, and then (IN SLOW MOTION) bring your head forward all the way to the ground and just lay there until someone feels sorry for you and picks you up.  You don’t put up with much from Trigger anymore.  You either scream if he’s bothering you or try to push him or pull his clothes.   You were a pretty quiet baby until about  the end of April when we took you to Houston.  You found your voice and have not been nearly as quiet since then. :)

• Food:  Like I said in a previous post, you stopped eating baby food completely right before your first birthday.  You want eat pasta pick ups or any of the little gerber meals.  I guess that is fine but it makes it difficult to feed you sometimes.  You eat pretty much whatever we feed Trigger.  You had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich right after your first birthday and you LOVE them.  You eat them quite often for lunch…this is funny to me because Trigger didn’t get to TOUCH peanut butter until he was two.  You hated fruit and vegetables right after your baby food boycott.  However, I have gotten you to eat a lot of fruit now and some vegetables.  You still aren’t a very healthy eater which really bothers me because Trigger eats pretty healthy.  You LOVE, LOVE, LOVE french fries!!!!!!  (also one of the things Trigger wasn’t allowed to have) You now drink whole milk with each of your meals and occasionally get a fruitable juice box.  The rest of the time you drink water.

• Sleep: You take two good naps a day.  Both your morning and afternoon nap are anywhere from an hour to two hours long….and have even taken two 3 hour naps a few days (THOSE WERE AMAZING DAYS…haha).  You sleep all night. We bathe you and Trigger together and you both get your pajamas on in your room.  Then, Daddy takes Trigger to his room to read books and say his prayers.  I usually give you a little bit of milk, rock you, and put you down around 7:30 at night.   You are THE biggest snuggler.  I’m pretty sure you would let me hold you ALL day and night if I would be willing.  You curl up on my shoulder and STILL suck your two right fingers…and you play with my hair.  THAT is absolutely my FAVORITE!!!  Daddy and Zizzy love it too.

• Talking: At one year, you were not saying any words.  You would babble a lot and even say “da-da” all the time but it wasn’t really for your daddy.  I was really concerned that you would have to be in speech too but decided that we would not do anything until 15 months.  Currently, at 14.5 months, you say a few words: mama, dada, teetee (I know that’s weird but he hears me say it a million times a day when I ask Trigger if he needs to go “teetee”), thank you (which sounds like “teh teh" ….it’s really sweet because he will tell you thank you when you hand him food and we really haven’t worked on it.)

• You are taking real vitamins just like your brother.  We don’t even have to crush them up.  You take a flinstone and a flouride.  You have to take these because of my blood clotting disorders that can pop up in you at anytime.  These should cover you for one of them since it has folic acid and b6 and b12…the other vitamins did not have those things. 

• At your one year appt, Dr. Slusher was still concerned about your growth and weight gain…because you weren’t eating or drinking good (still boycotting) AND because you have always been petite.   In fact, I just remembered that I was suppose to take you in for a weight check …probably need to do that.  However, I’m not really concerned.  You are a CHUNK!!!  On most days (now), you eat more than Trigger does!
• Favorite book: “That’s Not My Truck”  You could read this book over and over and over!!!

My sweet boy, you have grown so much.  We love you more than you could ever imagine.  I truly couldn’t imagine my life without my sweet, sweet Campbell!!!!!

And he was NOT happy about staying in one place…NOT happy at all!Whew…I’m glad that is done for the year…I can only imagine what next year will be like.Look at my two Cedar Creek boys!  Aren’t they going to be cute playing football together in about 10 years!

My BIG boy

I found these pictures from a couple of weeks ago…I absolutely LOVE this outfit.  Campbell has a matching smocked jon jon that is adorable too.  They wore them to church.  It was the first time Campbell has worn his…it was huge but I just had to have them wear them together for one sunday.  I would’ve gotten a picture of them together but Campbell fell asleep in the car and I put him straight down for a nap.  Trigger has only worn his outfit 2 or 3 times…they really do not get enough use out of these clothes!!!  At least they can be passed down to brother (maybe even two brothers) and cousins. 

I forgot to mention in Trigger’s 3 year old post that this big boy is COMPLETELY potty trained.  He has teeteed in the potty for us at least twice a day, everyday since he was 15 months.  He knows how to go to the bathroom…he just hasn’t cared if he sat in urine ALL day long…BOYS!!!!  They just don’t care!  Anyway, a few weeks before his birthday, I had several days that we were going to be home so I just up and decided to go for it.  I put underwear on him and that was it….the trick for us was that everytime he needed to teetee…you are going to think this is HORRIBLE….I opened up the front door and let him going outside and teetee. 

He has always preferred to stand up to teetee and throws a fit to sit down sooooo, this was a lot easier (and very appealing to him since he loves outside) than having teetee all over my bathrooms.  Whatever it was, it worked!!  I had been told to not push it and wait until he was ready.  He had to be potty trained for “school” this fall so this was the time…SO, SO, SO glad I waited!!!!!!!!  Oh and I had heard horror stories about trying to get them to poop on the potty…NEVER a problem. In fact, he will just tell me “mama, I need to poo-poo and he goes!…its been a month and a half and he has only had ONE accident. In fact, we even traveled to the beach about a week and a half after I started the process.  He even wears underwear for his 2-3 hour nap in the afternoon.  We still wear a pull-up at night…mainly because I’m lazy and I like my sleep and haven’t given it a single bit of effort!!!  Maybe we will attempt that after the baby is here and I’m up anyway. 

I’m so proud of Trigger!!!!!

Grammy’s 60th Birthday party

Matt’s mom, Mrs. Marcia, turned 60 at the end of July.  We had a party for her with some close friends and family.  I think it turned out nice and everyone had a great time visiting.  I didn’t take many pictures but here are a couple.

Trigger’s Party

This was THE best party…After planning, decorating, cooking, etc. for Campbell’s first birthday PLUS being nauseated, I decided to go the easy route for Trigger’s birthday.  I KNEW he would love it because he had been to a couple of parties there.  We had his party at Party Galaxy.  It has jumpies inside.  You get there 15 minutes before and set up…really all I did was put out table cloths.  The kids play…Matt went and picked up Johnny’s which was WONDERFUL as ALWAYS!  Had cake and ice cream…opened presents.  THEY CLEAN UP.  And you leave.  IT WAS AWESOME!   I will definitely do it again…especially with an end of July birthday.  It’s so hot that it is almost impossible to have anything outside…unless you want to have a party at 6AM. 

Little bit was tired because the party started at 10.  HE LOVES Chelsea.My sweet nieces…Anna Grace and Sydney.  They will be in the same class this year.Some of the family…Do you see those balloons?  I have a funny story to tell about that.  Matt and Trigger drove to Jefferson Corner to get ice.  I called him and said “Can you stop by Dollar General and get some balloons?”  He said sure…what do you need?  I told him “hmm…I want…about 4 red, 4 yellow, and 4 blue balloons.”  It seemed to take awhile.  He gets home and puts a bag down and I said “Where did you put the balloons?”  He handed me the bag…he had gotten a package of red balloons, blue balloons, and yellow balloons.  SERIOUSLY??? Please tell me how I was suppose to get helium in them?!!  Sooo…we made a trip to Super one and got some.  MEN!  And the funny part is that I told the story to two different women at the party and they finished the story before I could because THEY KNEW what their husbands would’ve done.  Next time I will be a little more specific.Uncle Ivin and Caroline (Jenny’s baby)Seth and ReidSydney and Anna Grace playingZizzy even took Campbell to play.Anna Grace, Meredith (Jenny’s oldest), and CampbellSydney and MeredithMeredith, Anna Grace, and SydneyTrigger’s cake..not perfect but I did make it myself.  It was a devils food cake and cream cheese icing.  The bottom part was FOUR layers and the top was THREE layers…It was a lot of cake to make.  Zizzy fed Campbell some cake…guess how much he loves her???And Poppy was watching.The men boys once again found a way to entertain themselves.Trigger got lots of awesome presents!

The party was great…it was easy…PERFECT for us!  And the GREAT thing is that Trigger had an awesome time.

Trigger is THREE!

Of course I had to take a picture first thing that morning.  Matt went to get donuts  before Trigger even woke up.  He got Trigger a cinnamon roll for something different than a regular donut.Sorry….I know im rough looking in the morning.  He got to open one present…his Jessie.  He has Woody and Buzz…he needed a Jessie.That night, he got to get his FIRST bike….and helmet.He was sooo excited.  BTW, do NOT ask me why he has his shirt on backwards…he always insists that it goes this way.Campbell had to check it out too.  He has to be in the middle of everything Trigger is doing.OH MY WORD…seriously…does he need to be a helmet model?  haha…I think he thinks he should be. Campbell entertained himself with a  puddle of water.

Happy 3rd Birthday to my sweet boy. 

Let me just tell you a few things he is saying these days:

“Every times”

“Peoples”  He pretty much makes everything a plural…like cereals.

“Hey! Hey! I got nuver kweshon”  that’s  Hey, hey.  I got another question.

“Wooooow.  I’ve never seen that before.”

“Momma.  Please I watch tom and jurry?”  He loves Tom and Jerry!!! 

His stats:

Weight: 36lbs 10oz.    Height: about 38.5 inches

A few other things:

-He is still in OT for sensory issues.  He is about to start speech back for articulation and expression. 

-He will be starting Trinity preschool in a few weeks.  I’m excited about changing to Trinity and I think he’s going to learn so much!!!

-He is still FULL OF LIFE.  He doesn’t cry as much as he had been a few months ago.  Now, he just throws fits…screaming and yelling fits…when he doesn’t get his way.  That is sooo much fun. 

-He loves Campbell even though he doesn’t always show it in appropriate ways. 

-He still laughs and smiles so easily!  He has such a kind heart but keeps us on our toes.  I have a feeling that parenting him is going to be somewhat of a challenge and require lots of patience…what am I saying, it already is somewhat of a challenge and requires LOTS of patience.  BUT, I have a feeling that his BIG personality is going to take him far in life.
