While Daddy’s away…

We will PLAY!!!!  Matt had his annual CORPS retreat this weekend.  So I was left with the boys by myself.  My parents came to help with bath times because Campbell usually cries continuously if not held at that time of the day.  That was a huge help to have them!  Saturday morning, I carried Campbell into Trigger’s room and put him in bed with Trigger for a little while.  Trigger was being so sweet that I had to get my camera and snap a few shots!

Then, Trigger tried to pick up Campbell!  YIKES!!!! Cleaning windows and mals party 048 And, he wanted to undress Campbell!

Cleaning windows and mals party 056 It was a tiring weekend without Matt’s help but both boys were very good!

MORE trouble!

Well poor Trigger is going to get picked on again.  BUT, he’s such good blogging material!  Ha! Anyway, Matt and I were getting ready to leave.  Matt to go on his CORPS retreat and me to Liz and Daddy’s.  Matt walked in the kitchen and called me in there.  We found Trigger washing the windows with a bottle brush.  He had reached into the kitchen sink and gotten it, taken it to the windows, and proceeded to wash them.  I guess maybe he was trying to hint that I was failing on my job as a stay at home mom.  HAHA!!!  Fat chance that I will ever  have time to wash windows.  I can barely get dressed and my teeth brushed! :)

Here are some pictures of Trigger washing the windows!

6 Weeks and a little ANNOUNCEMENT

Campbell was six weeks on July 15th.   Matt reminded me that I should be going back to work tomorrow because Campbell is 6 weeks old.  I am a teacher and since it’s summer, I don’t have to go back right now.  With Trigger, I started back to work when he was only 5 weeks old AND he’d only been home from the hospital/NICU for 3 weeks…so this is a totally different situation for me to not have to go back so early.  WELL…I have an announcement.  Matt has told me that I can STAY AT HOME!  I will be a STAY AT HOME MOMMY!  This is something that I have wanted to do since I was a little girl…seriously, this is what I told my mom that I wanted to be when I was little.  I am very thankful to Matt for working so hard so that I can stay home with our babies!  I know it’s going to be a HARD job…I’m already seeing that with keeping them this summer.  BUT, I know if it’s possible for the mom to be home with her children, it’s the best thing!  My mom stayed home with us from the time I was 3ish until she passed away when I was 11 and I would NEVER give up that time I had with her!!!!

Oh and I almost forgot about these pictures.  I decided to be BETTY CROCKER and make homemade blueberry syrup the other night.  I had tons of blueberries that Liz had picked for us and we were blueberried out!  Since, I didn’t want them to go to waste, I made the syrup.  It was actually pretty easy and was very yummy.  Of course I cooked pancakes (or “cake cakes” as Trigger likes to say) to go with the syrup.  Trigger was in love with the syrup!

Playset Progress

Matt spent two whole days working on the playset.  He had to rent a digger for digging holes for the posts…it has a name but I can’t remember it! :)  Matt dug TONS of holes, put in lots of huge posts, got very sweaty, and I’m pretty sure that he got a little (LOT) dehydrated!  It was INSANELY hot and VERY, VERY humid outside!!!

Here are a few pictures of the progress.

July 2010 203 This was what Matt had completed after one day.  I don’t have a picture from after day two of working.  In fact, I need to get out there and take some pictures of all the posts before he starts doing anything this next weekend.

The BEST Daddy!

Matt was lying next to Campbell in our bed one night.  This is what I noticed when I looked over!

Always into something/Building Playset

Trigger is ALWAYS getting into trouble!!!  Well, this particular day, Trigger got very quiet which ALWAYS spells trouble!  He did appear every now and then to show me a book that he was “reading”.  I was cooking supper so I just ignored the quietness.  When I finally went to check on him, this is what I found.

July 2010 181July 2010 184 While we were inside destroying the house, Matt was outside staking off the area for the NEW playset that we Matt is building for the boys. I decided that Matt needed to take a picture beside the stakes to remember Matt’s hard work.

July 2010 185 July 2010 189 After Matt came in and cleaned up, we spent a little family time in Trigger’s room. Campbell was having a little tummy time and Trigger decided to hug on his little brother.  I thought these were the sweetest pictures!  In the first picture, you can see how jaundice his eyes still are!

T and C t and c 2 Then, he decided to read Campbell a book.

July 2010 023 And, spend a little time with daddy.

July 2010 027 Oh and since I’m talking about Trigger getting into TROUBLE reminded me of our dog Trouble.  I got her when I was a freshman in high school.  She is a yorkie and just turned 14 in March.  The vet just told me the other day that she is the oldest yorkie that they treat (the next oldest being about 8 years old).  The funny thing about her age is that the vet told us when she was very young that she wouldn’t live past 5 years because she had an enlarged heart.  They also told me that she was OCD.  Seriously?  And told Liz that she needed to see a behavioral therapists…the closest one being in Texas.  WHAT?  We did not take her to a therapist but we did start her on Buspar for her behavior.  She only stayed on it for a little while.  Anyway, she was never house broken because she was so stubborn.  We had to keep her in a box because of her bathroom issue and because she would bite Trigger (couldn’t hurt though because she didn’t have any front teeth).  Anyway, she has just gotten too nasty and too difficult to deal with with a newborn and toddler (esp. Trigger trying to mess with her and throw things in her box).  We have given her over to an adoption agency out of Dubach.  It’s kind of sad but a relief.  The lady already had an older man in mind to give her to….she is the PERFECT lap dog.

July 4th

We had a pretty low key day.  The only thing we did was go to Matt’s parents to eat supper.  Trigger had a blast playing with his cousins.

I took a few (haha) pictures.

Check out these boys!  Trigger LOVES his pockets.  In fact, when he doesn’t have pockets on his shorts, he gets quite ticked off!  He calls them “pocks” instead of pockets. Haha!! I thought this was cute of my boys with their hands in their pockets.

July 4th 019 Trying to get a good picture of our boys…Trigger was NOT interested!

July 4th 065 After we got to the Woodard’s house, we had to take a cousin picture!
