More random iphone pics

im sorry for all of these phone pictures but I need to dump them on here to have a record.

Let’s start with this picture.  I know it isn’t great but here’s a picture of Larkin and her friends at church.  IMG_3324One morning after church, I threw my shoes off and changed all the kids clothes.  I turn around to find Larkin strutting around in my shoes.  It was really cute.  IMG_3333Larkin and I went to visit papaw while he was in the hospital.  Well…actually, I went to visit papaw and Larkin went to charm everyone in the waiting room…especially the two ladies sitting near my grandmother.IMG_3353Larkin crawled up in meme’s lap.  I had her favorite book in her backpack so Larkin was thrilled.IMG_3366I just realized that there are a lot of pictures of larkin.  ha!  IMG_3381Do you see how messy my laundry room is…that would be  because I have three little people who can not stay out of there!  IMG_3387IMG_3410IMG_3419IMG_3425IMG_3471We celebrated Grammy’s birthday in July.  IMG_3490While we were there, they boys had fun swimmingIMG_3492Larkin, my precious angel…I turned around while driving down the road and noticed this little guilty look….This baby girl had unbuckled her seatbelt.  HOW?!?!  She was only 19 months old!  IMG_3553My garden was pretty good this year.  We got a ton of cucumbers.  My squash, on the other hand, I only got one..and I only got a few tomatoes.  I put the boys to work peeling the cucumbers.  THEY LOVED IT!!!!!!IMG_3556I went shopping and got Trigger new school shoes…it pains me to look at these because after two days of school, they were FILTHY!IMG_3564Miss priss has learned the art of getting a quick nap in the car.IMG_3568IMG_3571IMG_3580Occasionally the boys ask to brush my hair and fix it…I don’t mind. at. all!  IMG_3584We played outside a lot this summer…even though it was verrrry hot!!!! IMG_3606IMG_3614IMG_3615IMG_3637Larkin loves for Trigger to hold her and walk around with her.  We have to be careful because it isn’t the safest thing.IMG_3638IMG_3639For Trigger’s first party attempt, we made these pictures for decorations.  The lobster is Trigger’s footprint, Campbell and larkins handprint.  After we got done with the lobster, Trigger asked if he could paint a picture.  Of course I said yes.  I thought he did a great job!IMG_3648

And that’s it for the phone pics…at least for summer time!

Random Iphone pics- August 2013

August was a busy month.  I’m not sure you can even count August as summer because it seems like August 1 is the beginning of “get your life in order because school is starting”.  So, it has been busy, busy!

And, let me tell you something.  That little 1 year old…the THIRD born that is suppose to go with the flow….is THE most active of our children.  She gets into more things than the boys ever thought about getting into.  I am constantly chasing her out of one thing and cleaning  up another…She is quick!  There are several pictures in here that will show that.

These are iphone pics and are very random…I’ll try to explain.  IMG_3740We had a cedar creek parent meeting before school started.  We got a babysitter and Matt and I drove to the school.  I was so excited.  I had been waiting for this day for a long time.  We parked and while walking up, I hav e to say it felt really surreal.  Matt and I walking side by side up from the cc parking lot.  I felt as if I had been taken back about 14 years to the hundreds of times we had made that walk up to campus together.  BUT, this time we were walking as parents instead of students.  It really strange being on the parent side.  Ive done the student thing at cc…13 years.  Ive done the teaching thing at cc…now im beginning my journey as a parent at cc which will last longer than I care to think about….17 years…that’s how much longer I’ll be at cc..  I  will be 48 when Larkin graduates…that is just so bizarre to me.  ANyway, now that I have bored you with that.  After we heard the opening song-and-dance, we walked over to our classrooms for a meeting with prek.  NOW, as if the walking up from the parking lot wasn’t weird enough, I had to sit through the handbook/prek meeting spill that I had given myself many times!  I felt like interjecting “yes, make sure you follow that 24 hr rule because WE KNOW if you dose your child up with red medicine before they come to school” or “PLEASE don’t walk past the doorway on the first day of school and cry like a  baby in front of your child”.  It was strange…really strange.  I was told by a good friend who has done the teacher become parent thing that I was going to have to learn how to bite my tongue…and bite it hard!  It is true.  There have been several moments like that already.  Like do I think everyone should bring their own paint tshirts.  NO, I do not.  I left 6 perfect lakeshore paint smocks when I left cc and they worked PERFECT and repelled the paint instead of the paint just soaking through the shirt or a big tshirt arm being drug through the paint.  BUT, you know…why does it matter…it doesn’t!  So, even if I think it’s not the smartest idea, I do it.  Those are the rules.  Okay…again, back to the reason for the picture.  After the parent meeting, we met Trigger’s teacher (which happens to be a cc alumni that graduated with my brother).  She is just precious..so sweet.  We have LOVED her so far!  We had the opportunity to sign up for parties.  I did what I had told myself I would NOT do!  I signed up to be the fall fest chairman.  And, I am the only chairman for all three classes.  I know how it feels as a teacher to not have a chairman and have to ask someone to please step up…so I did it.  I will hate myself for it…guaranteed!  Oh well. Hopefully I won’t wait until the last minute to start planning.  IMG_3744For Trigger’s bday…as I stated in that post. I had to make lots of cupcakes…I had a little helper the entire time.IMG_3759IMG_3746See…scissors! sigh!IMG_3761Love that hand grip.  Made me so proud to see that!!!!IMG_3777IMG_3779After Trigger’s bday party, we had a few couples over to have some hot dog.  Trigger really wanted to play on the slip and slide that uncle gabe had set up….and have the water slide out.  It was sooo much fun!!!!IMG_3781Last minute I decided to put some things in kool kids.  I was pretty disappointed with the amount of things I got back.  Like nice smocked clothes in perfect condition and priced really good.  BUT, this was the amount of stuff that was left at the end of the sale.  SOOOO, I didn’t feel so bad anymore.  However, I still don’t know if it was worth my time of all the tagging just to get half of to come back to me.  :(IMG_3782I pulled out Larkins fall/winter wardrobe to see what we were lacking.  She only  has this much because most of her clothes from last year still fit!  PLUS, I have two sweet friends who give me lots of clothes to borrow.  So sweet of them.  I can’t wait for larkin to wear all of these precious clothes.  IMG_3796Larkin started crying…I ran into the den and there she stood…she had put her brothers underwear on which is pretty impressive if you ask me because campbell still has trouble sometimes.  IMG_3799IMG_3817IMG_3859Our friend that cuts the boys (and my) hair is out for awhile because she is pregnant with twin boys…so exciting…except that it left us with no one to cut our hair.  So, I took them to another friend of mine.  She did a great job…and the kids loved playing in her kitchen while they waited on each other.  Larkin still hasn’t had a haircut yet but it wont be long because the mullet is getting out of control!IMG_3865Modeling her Matilda JaneIMG_3884Visiting daddy at work.  yes, he has FOUR screens.  I do not understand it.  IMG_3887Trigger drew me a picture….he said it was me and him and a heart to show how much he loved me.  LOVE IT!IMG_3889IMG_3894Matt’s mom got the boys one day before school started.  Larkin and I went to Shreveport for a quick trip to order some bows and run to a few stores.  I love girl time.  IMG_3901Larkin LOVES to read books.  In the morning, I nurse her and then we turn her lamp on and she reads while I go feed Trigger breakfast.  IMG_3905She pulls down one  book after another.IMG_3908We took the kids to the new playground the other day.  They loved it!IMG_3916AND, the boys got to play with George and Jack Smith so they were HAPPY!IMG_3934Trigger and GoergeIMG_3935Supper on the weekend: fruit loops outside.  Healthy healthy!  haha!IMG_3940And ill leave you with this.  They love this little truck.  We will be getting Larkin something soon because our tractor has finally died so we need a second vehicle so all three will have a  place.  For now, they just have to all squeeze in.  IMG_3942

Happy Birthday Hudson

A couple of weekends ago, I took Larkin to Hudson Veatch’s 1st Birthday party.  His momma, Chasten, and I have been friends for a LONG time.  Chasten and I went to and graduated from cedar creek together.  She also has known matt since they were itty bitty.  They were even in preschool together and she had an imaginary friend named “matt woodoo”…I think that was the name…something close to that.  Chasten and I had the opportunity to teach together at Cedar creek for four years…she was with me during my infertility issues…and helped read my fertility sticks when we were trying to get pregnant with Trigger.  We’ve shared a lot.  It’s fun for us to have children together.  Her oldest, Ella Cate, and Campbell will be at Cedar Creek together.

Anyway, Hudson turned 1!  The party was precious.  Larkin had a great time.IMG_3970The birthday boy!IMG_3975Larkin stealing presents from Hudson.  She really wanted that guitar.  Ha!IMG_4050

I’m glad we got to go…it was a fun evening with Hudson, Chasten, and the rest of her family!

Outside time

as I have said a million times, my children would literally LIVE outside if I would let them.  They jump up and down when I tell them we are going outside and I have to literally drag them inside when it’s time to go in.  It’s gotten easier to take them out because they can just play…even larkin.  I can sit there and watch.  Now, I do end up doing a lot of yelling “stop it”…”no, come out of there”…”don’t dig in the flower beds”…”no, we don’t throw rocks”…etc  etc  etc.  but its still lots of fun.  We usually have to come straight inside for showers because they are so filthy.IMG_3958IMG_3962

IMG_5385IMG_5396IMG_5403My little models.  I love all of these little expressions from Campbell. They are so him.  Just a little FYI…when my children pick saints shirts, I cringe.  im not going to say that im not a saints fan because that would be un-Louisianian (is that how you would say that).  it really has nothing to do with liking or not liking the saints…it’s more to do with their colors.  this drives matt insane that I feel this way but I HATE (and that’s a strong word) saints color combination.  Thank goodness I like Cedar creek and Tech colors! :)IMG_5413IMG_5415IMG_5416IMG_5418IMG_5424

music minister

Trigger loves music.  He has since he was born.  He used to hear music come on the tv when he was a baby and would do whatever it took to get to it.  Well, not much has changed.  He still loves it.  Since going to big church in June, he has loved watching Jeremy Asher (our music minister) direct the choir and congregation.  Trigger loves to direct like Jeremy.  Trigger was sick a few weeks back so we stayed from church.  We watched church from the previous week on the tv.   Trigger immediately went and put on his suit (which he is also obsessed with) and started directing.  IMG_3671When it was time for prayer, I mentioned that they were praying on tv and Campbell bowed his head and closed eyes.  It was so sweet.  IMG_3672And one more of Trigger directing just like Mr. Jeremy.IMG_3674

Go COUGARS!

We take pictures every  year for my dad’s cedar creek football ad.  Each year it gets a little more interesting.  I must say though, this was the best year yet.  I don’t think we even had a major meltdown which is quite impressive.

I took a quick shot of my three before we left.  How appropriate are their little expressions.  Love that little Campbell!IMG_3735And, here are the Hood grandchildren.  They were in age order…all but Larkin and Jake.  Larkin is older than jake.

Left to Right: Larkin (1), Jake (1), Reid (2), Campbell (3), Trigger (5), Sydney (6), and Abby (8).IMG_3742

The Hood grandchildren with Poppy and Zizzy.IMG_5173This is a little behind the scenes footage….it takes a lot of work to get these little people to cooperate.  IMG_5266A shot from behind.  Love those little people!IMG_5280This wouldve been so cute except Larkin wouldn’t look back.  IMG_5308

And there you have it…I love seeing all of them in their cedar creek gear…it’s a CC tradition! #creekpride
