Brotherly Love

The boys were eating lunch one day last week…obviously mac and cheese was part of it! ;)…and Trigger decided to be all loving on Campbell…did Campbell like it, NOPE!

I love that last one!!!! Ha! Btw, we did get a haircut the next day!  Thank goodness…I couldn’t take that nappy hair anymore!  ALSO, please take note of what Trigger has on…that is his FAVORITE and he will usually pick it EVERYTIME he has his way!

I have said probably a million times…we moved Trigger to Trinity this year.  I have taught a lot of children from the Trinity program and I am always very impressed with how prepared they are when they get to Cedar Creek Pre-K.  We also wanted to have Mrs. Lisa!!  She is Matt’s partner’s wife.  I just hope Trigger behaves for her since we go to church with her and Matt and Chris work together daily!  Surely he can’t be the worst she’s had?!?!  Haha!  Lisa is an awesome teacher.  She has a degree in education…in fact, I’m 99% sure she has her masters.  We are very lucky to have her.  As I said earlier, we went to meet Mrs. Lisa.  I really didn’t know what to expect because you just never know when they are going to decide to cling on for dear life to your leg.  He spoke to Mrs. Lisa and ran on into the room and started playing.  He LOVED the room.  And, I have to be honest, from a teacher perspective, I was VERY impressed!  It wasn’t just a Sunday school room with a teacher in there.  It looked like a Pre-K classroom.  Lisa had her block plan for the week posted so we could see the activities they would participate in each day.  She has her centers clearly defined.  EVERYTHING was age appropriate!  I was IMPRESSED…I mean, he is just 3 years old but I was so excited…and STILL AM.  I can’t tell  you how many times that I have looked at Matt and said, “I’m so glad we are there”.  I have to say that it is a little strange to be walking those halls again.  I spent my first 12 years of life at Trinity.  That’s where we went to church until Liz and Daddy got married.  The two directors know me from my childhood (not sure if that’s good or not)…and I see them first thing when I walk in each morning.  They talk to me and both of the boys!  Soooo, I will say it again, I am impressed with the program!!! 

When we got ready to leave, Lisa had a book to give to each child.  Don’t you love his hat?!?  I do!!  That is Reeves’s hat (Mrs. Lisa’s son) from when he was little. 

When I dropped Trigger off on the first day, (as instructed) we went in and washed his hands…I love that!  We did that at the school that I student taught.  I’m hoping MAYBE that will cut down on our illnesses this year.  Then, Trigger puts his apple up on the tree so everyone will know that he is present.  I sign him in and leave.  NO tears…we went all three days last week and NO TEARS.  In fact, he got so excited each morning when I told him we were going back.  Makes a momma’s heart VERY happy!

Matt did come on the first day to drop off too but I didn’t get a picture of the two of them.  I did get a picture of Campbell and Matt when we were leaving.  Look at that snuggler.  LOVE him!

Oh and so I can remember, Trigger will go to school from 9-12 on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.  We have him signed up for early drop off which starts at 750.  I haven’t taken him to that yet.  Really the only reason he is signed up is because Matt was going to take him on the way to work.  However, since I signed him up, Matt has started going to work at 5am to keep from having to go back to work right now.  So, I’m not sure I will ever be up and ready early enough to take him to early drop off.  We shall see.  I did not sign him up to stay until 2.  Trigger does not nap at school…and he NEEDS his naps!  Right now, I pick him up at 12, feed him lunch and put him down for a nap.  It’s working out good right now.  We will see how it all works out once the baby arrives.  Liz says that if I go on bedrest, Trigger will stay until 2 and we will be signing Campbell up for Trinity MDO.  Hmmmm…I’m not so sure about that.  I really, really can’t send Campbell right now.  He will go for sure next fall.  However, right now, he is still my BABY~!!!  I can’t let go of him right now!

Triggers news

And I have more news...when I tell you that it's been a wild and crazy few weeks, I am NOT kidding!!!!!
I posted about triggers episode a few days ago. well, we went to see dr Slusher and she highly recommended that trigger have an EEG to see if there are any problems. She doesn't anticipate anything showing up but we have to be safe. We were suppose to go last week but something came up with our family so we had to cancel. We are going tomorrow morning. I'm a little concerned about trigger bc he has some sensory issues and I have a feeling that putting a hundred or so electrodes and goop on his head are NOT going to go well! Maybe he will surprise me though! I'm not sure when we will get the results. Hopefully soon! I'll be sure to take some pictures.

Baby girl- ultrasound update

Well. A few of you know this already but I thought I'd blog about it.
The weeks leading up to our big ultrasound almost drove me insane. I so bad wanted to know what we were having. This baby was a huge surprise and i know its our last so it was my last time to have a gender revealed to me...this pregnancy has just felt different. I havent really worried...which is so different from the boys pregnancies. I worried constantly about everything. Well, A few days before our big ultrasound, instead of getting more excited, I got really nervous. My excitement turned to fear of something being wrong. In fact, the day before, I got a reminder that Angie smith's new book was coming out and I could go pre-order. I did order it...it's about fears and I kind of think i need it. Anyway, her story all came back to me and the fears of what I could find out at this ultrasound really started to take over. I tried to just be excited but it was hard. We got to the ultrasound and I was so nervous. I asked if we could have mrs Nancy. She has been our ultrasound tech thru all of our problems, miscarriages, etc. She called me back! She did all of the measuring. They have a new machine so I couldn't really watch the screen and make sure everything was measuring on schedule. I heard her count the vessels in the cord. It's so weird because I always pay such close attention and I'd never noticed that. Its funny how everytime ive ever had a problem, this is what happens...something strange sticks out in my mind and I can't make it go away. That is what happened with the cord thing. I kind of made myself not think about it and I was so surprised and excited when we found out it was a girl that I tried not to think anything was wrong. The next day, I had a dr visit with Harper. The point of the visit was to go over the results of the ultrasound after the radiologist typed up his report. Green clinic does it a little different the most ob clinics. Anyway, the report wasn't ready...shocking, I know! ;) I mentioned something about the cord to dr harper. He brushed it off and said it was most likely nothing but explained the possibilities quickly...thinking that I was being my usual OCD self. Well, the appointment was on a Thursday and I got a call from dr Harper on Monday afternoon saying that there was a problem. The umbilical cord is a two vessel cord instead of a three vessel cord. When he told me, I chuckled a little and said "this is ridiculous...I mean, why can't I have one normal pregnancy". He just laughed. The problem with two vessels is that it only has 1 artery instead of 2 like it's suppose to...and then there is the vein. So this umbilical cord has one artery and one vein. So. What does that mean? Dr Harper said that I'm (or really, the baby) at alot more risk for genetic abnormalities and chromosomal abnormalities. The most common are heart and kidney problems. The other huge risk is IUGR (intrauterine growth restriction/retardation) and early delivery...which we are already at risk for with blood clotting disorders AND high blood pressure. We are going to Dr Jones in Shreveport on Thursday for a level 2 ultrasound. He is a maternal fetal medicine specialist that followed us when I was pregnant with Campbell. Honestly, our personalities don't jive but he's an awesome dr. I believe the level 2 ultrasound will measure the size and function of all organs as well as some other things. We may have to have an echocardiogram on the baby too. And, dr Harper warned us that he will probably want to do a amniocentesis...which we will probably opt out of bc of the risks involved. I also hope to find out if we are more at risk for those complications bc of the conditions that I already have. The good news is that they didn't see anything that jumped out at them in the ultrasound. However, Im ready for dr jones to do the ultrasound because he sees these problems all the time and knows what to be looking for. Oh AND, can you guess what percentage of pregnancies have a two cord vessel?
The answer: ONE PERCENT!!! yep, 1%!!! wouldn't you know that would be ME! Poor matt. He said he should've done a medical interview with me before we got engaged. ;)
So, please pray for us. I cant wait for Thursday to see dr jones!

Trinity preschool

These are the pictures from my phone. I'll post more pictures when I get my real camera uploaded. First, we had to go meet Mrs. Lisa. I loved what he wore. However, I did compromise and let him where his camo flip flops. Sperrys would've been alot cuter! :)


Here is trigger on his first day of school. I told that the rule is that you have to wear tennis shoes to school. No flip flops, crocs, or boots. We will see how long it takes him to figure out that that's not true. ;) I just know from teaching that children have a better time when they aren't worried about shoes and shoes aren't making them fall and they aren't putting them back on every 5 minutes. ;)


I do have this funny thing to tell. Trigger is quite opinionated about his clothing. He likes to pick out his clothes everyday...which is really sad bc I have to tell him he isn't in charge of his clothing, I am. ;( he does get to chose when we don't have anywhere to go. I gave him FOUR choices the night before our first day. I thought that was very generous of me to give him so many choices. He was not impressed by my generosity. In fact, I'm pretty sure his scowls got louder after I put out each outfit. Haha!

Not sure where to begin

So much has been going on in the last two-three weeks that I feel a little overwhelmed. There's so much that I want to make sure I blog about so I always remember them but I'm so tired that blogging gets pushed off to another day. Anyway, I am going to try to fill in the gaps so I can remember a few things. It may be that I repeat myself. I'm sorry about that...I have no explanation other than I'm lazy and don't want to go back and read my old posts AND of course my brain doesn't work anymore.
-in the last couple of weeks, Sydney has come over several times to play. She and trigger are so cute together. However, they fight like brother and sister.



-Campbell has not been sleeping great the last month or so. He's quite spoiled! AND, he has seriously been teething for a month and a half. His molars are almost all in and I just discovered last night that one of his canines has started to come in. Seriously?! We need a break from teething.


-so we have been quite excited about baby sister! I have done quite a bit of shopping and it is oh so fun! I also got out trigger and campbells coming home outfits...just for fun. Here is trigger laying beside his! His coming home outfit is not what I expected to bring my baby home in. Since he was born at lsu and was teeny tiny sooo Liz had bought this kissy kissy preemie outfit that was so sweet. I decided to choose it instead of a Feldman brothers since he had an hour car ride home from the hospital. It was funny (not really) because when Liz brought the outfit to me, I looked at it and said "there's no way he can wear that, it's going to be way too small". The picture doesn't do it justice. It's tiny. When I put it on him in the nicu, it was huge on him! Look how big my boy is now! From 4 lbs 5oz/18 inches to 38 lbs/39.5 inches. WOW!!!!!!


-campbell wasn't as cooperative about laying beside his coming home outfit. He wore a preemie feltman brothers outfit. It was actually the one that trigger was suppose to come home in but I chose the more comfortable one. Trigger had his newborn pictures taken at 5 weeks old in that preemie outfit and Campbell had his newborn pictures taken in it at 10 days too. It has a bonnet but I don't do bonnets on boys. I do have my limits. ;)

-before school started for trigger, I tried to do some fun things with him. One of the things he LoVES is painting!


-just so you get to see what I see a big part of each day! Spoiled rotten!!!!!!!!


-And, he's quite mischievous too! He loves getting into our pantry and playing!

-okay...this picture is hilarious. Those of you that know matt, know that the boy can watch ANYTHING. Seriously...anything! I can have say yes to the dress and he can walk through the room and stop to see what it is. Lifetime movies, cartoons, football, bowling, flower arranging (We don't really watch the last two), etc. It does not matter, he will get into whatever is showing! It really makes life grand for me bc he doesn't really complain about what's on tv. Now, he does love his huntin shows and sports!!!! The boys (in the pic below) look just like their daddy!

Our ultrasound

We are having a.....GIRL!!!!!!!
Last Wednesday, mrs Nancy called me back. She did lots and lots of measuring. The baby measured right on track for what the shreveport drs thought. I am due around January 28th. Dr Harper thinks my due date is a week before this. Either way, the latest we would deliver is the middle of January...I'll explain why in a minute.
After Mrs Nancy (love her...when she called me back, she immediately remembered me...I know, it wasnt that long ago since last ultrasounds/baby! Ha...but she started asking about my shots, Bp, etc.) finished measuring, she called matt back. She showed him all the baby's body. She looked to determine gender and the babies legs were wide open. There wasn't a turtle which was easily identifiable with boys. There was absolutely nothing Sooooo....she announced that we were having a GIRL! To say we were excited was an understatement. Would I have been exited to have a boy? Absolutely! I LOVE, LOVE boys...and three little boys close in age wouldve been precious. However, the excitement came bc it was something we never expected and knew we would never get another chance.
I'm actually doubting the results and wondering if mrs Nancy was wrong...bc it just feels so surreal that we will be having a girl. I (actually matt and in both) immediately came home to tell trigger, Campbell, and Liz. Let me just say that I'm so thankful that I could tell Liz it was a girl. She would've loved a boy,
Of course! But she was pretty dead set that it had to be a girl! We told trigger and he said "like mawory" (Mallory Waller)....so precious!
Liz squealed and screamed and jumped up and down. She had the boys and Sydney outside at our house and they were completely naked and were playin with a water hose and mud. They were filthy. Liz told
Them to go inside bc we were going to the childrens shoppe! Soooo...we went to eat and then went shopping for baby girl.






Liz went a little crazy!!! I love it all.
Then, on Friday, matts mom came to get trigger and Liz,
Campbell and I went to Monroe shopping. And, things got a little out of control then too.



I stacked them by sizes to make sure we got a good variety.


Then, I just had to hang them somewhere soooo, trigger now has part of his closet taken up by baby "stister" clothes.


Im loving all this new pink stuff!!
So fun!!!!
